Aotal is New Zealand's leader in developing cloud-based talent management applications. Our software platforms include:

  • SnapHire, an ATS which empowers organisations to source, attract, recruit, select and then onboard employees
  • Talent App Store, is an open, peer to peer integration marketplace where customers can install pre-integrated Human Resources SaaS micro-services (aka apps) into an HR technology stack of their choice

We have an opportunity for a New Zealand qualified Accountant or Financial Controller to work closely with the CEO and leadership team as they develop and execute commercial strategy.  You will work alongside a team of very focused and driven individuals who really enjoy what they do.  We like to have a bit of fun, but are equally very hard working and are super passionate about our business and the potential we are now realising.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 7+ years experience who is seeking a part-time advisory role (initially up to 16 hours), and who wants to share their knowledge and experience. 

The Role

This is a newly created opportunity and we expect the role will be agile and flexible with a high chance that it will evolve over the next 6-12 months. You will have a hands approach operational Financial management.

  • Work closely with the CEO evaluating general business performance plus appraising new market strategies and new product ventures
  • Co-ordinate and oversee all year-end processes and matters of compliance
  • Appraisal and review of product/service, procurement/sales, pricing, contracts, foreign exchange etc
  • Strategic and commercial insight through market analysis, business case work, strategic appraisal and decision support, financial modelling and forecasting
  • Working Capital/Cashflow management through existing and new technology initiatives etc.
  • Drive and facilitate the business and financial plan across multiple businesses working with the leadership team on commercial objectives and direction
  • Monthly consolidation of management accounts and subsequent forecasting

Your Profile

  • An experienced and senior Financial leader with demonstrable commercial leadership ideally gained within medium sized businesses
  • Exposure to a wide range of industries with technology experience highly desirable
  • A hands approach to Financial management
  • An ability to be both strategic and hands on with leadership and technical delivery/facilitation at all levels across the organisation
  • A natural flair for appraising, setting and diving both commercial vision and direction
